No one knows what Democrats represent, except diversity, open borders, and an inability to take on Trump. Their economic policy? Don’t be snarky. Health care? Done and apparently forgotten. Protecting our elections? Trump’s a threat; let’s move on.
Their promises for the future? Damned if anyone wants to talk about it.
Joe Biden is the exception to the Democratic malaise. His faith in his policies and in America should be in inspiring. But few Democrats share - at least publicly - his optimism and can-do spirit. Readers of The New York Times learn that Blacks, Hispanics, and young people have turned their back son him and the Democratic Party.
Sometimes Democrats talk about improving their messaging or doing more to reach out to disaffected communities. But they seem to have no idea what their messages should be. They’ve reverted to their natural default position of despair.
The DNC - or another organization equal in power and stature - should be leading the Democratic charge. That’s what the Republican National Committee does. The DNC seems to be pretty good at fund-raising. How about working equally hard at proposing a bright future for America.
