Memo: Biden Comms Pros
Some advice that Biden and other Democratic messaging folks desperately seem to need:
Read a wide range of newspapers a day, especially the New York Post. Learn what ordinary people thinking. After you stop laughing, work your way address their concerns. These days, that includes crime, inflation, illegal immigration, and the latest left-wing education fad.
There are potential publicity opportunities literally every day. Stop blowing them.
Only go to right-wing sites to as a reminder of the danger Trump and his acolytes pose to America.
Monitor The New York York Times, CNN, and MSNBC for bending over backwards to be even-handed and finding negativity in every pro-Biden story.
Go on Fox. Humanize Democrats, and reach out to rhe angry, disaffected voters.
Encourage the media to cover policy, not merely politics. Quietly make it clear that unfair coverage will have consequences.
Stop providing advance information on your public relations strategies.
Watch “soft news” on the networks’ mirning shows and find ways of associating the president with feel-good stories and taking credit for breakthroughs in science and technology.
Tweet at least once an hour. Stick to three principal themes: Attacking political rivals. Praising positive developments in science, culture, and politics. Explaining what actions the administration is taking to make the lives of Americans better.
Never tweet in a passive voice or as a mere observer. It’s easy, but your job is to remind the American people as often as possible why they should vote for Democrats. .
Coordinate your efforts with the media professionals in Congressional, Senate, state committees, and local political clubs. Pick a story or two a day and make sure everyone is pushing it to the appropriate media outlets.
