Honor The Heroes

Donald Trump’s crass political exploitation of Arlington National Cemetery was roundly criticized, but it was probably successful in reinforcing his (undeserved) pro-military persona.

Kamala should consider doing something similar.

She has any number of opportunities.  She can participate in a White House Medal of Honor ceremony, visit American military bases (maybe SEAL training - or a quick jaunt on a carrier-based fighter wing), or convene a conference on meeting the needs of active duty and retired service people and their families.  She can meet with the families of military members killed in Afghanistan, or even visit Arlington with them or other bereaved families.

It would also be helpful if she could promise policies that would help improve the lives of our military personnel and their families. 

Democrats demonstrated their patriotism at their Convention.  The country is pretty much united in its respect for the military.  Kamala’s campaign should do whatever it can to take advantage of Tim Walz’s service and show how it identifies with and supports our military.
